4 Steps to watching movies on psp

Howdy!

Now sony will probably never ever tell you this, but it's really quick and easy to watch movies on your PSP. PSPs are geared toward UMD movies, because Sony make a ton of money on them, but it's also possible to watch movies you already own (on dvd) on your PSP. Check out the easy steps below to see exactly how to do it:

Step 1. Job 1 when trying to watch movie on psp is to connect your computer and your PSP together. A computer is essential as it's the only way to take of the file transferring and conversion etc. Connect the two via USB, and make sure the PSP is switched off when you do. If it's not you can lose data, and you'd be surprised how often it happens...

Step 2 starts with switching the PSP on. Now enter the settings menu on the PSP itself. Once you're in there hit the X button, which should let the PSP know that it needs to open up the connection to the computer. The connection will be set after just a few seconds, and you are then just a few minutes from watching movies on PSP. Once the PSP and the computer are officially connected, if you use the computer to open up the my computer icon, you should see all the drives attached to the computer, including the Sony PSP.

Step 3 in using your PSP to watch movies is as simple as creating a couple of folders. Simple go into the PSP using your mouse, and then into the memory stick, and from there open up the folder named, cleverly enough, PSP. Once you have that one open, create 2 new folders (usually a right click on most computers), and name one of them 100mnv01, and the other should me MP_ROOT. Step 4. Just watch the movies! You need to make sure the movies you want to watch are located in the 100mnv01 folder that you just created, and once they are their you can just access them from the psp menu the same as anything else. You'll need to make sure that the files are MP4 files, as they are what the PSP understands for movies. You can get a free convertor from lots of places on the net, just do a search for "dvd ripper" or mp4 convertor or something.

That's it! Now you never have to pay over the odds for UMD movies you already own, and you can watch movies on PSP whenever you want!
